Quick Answer
Connect a belt from the Packager output to the Depot intake, facing toward the Depot. For your Moon Sweepers conveyor belt setup, equip the Building Tool, select Conveyor, and test a short route before extending it. Stock belts move cargo at a fixed 1.1 m/s and have no speed upgrade; the Faster Belts mod adds Belt Overdrive, up to 2.75 m/s.
Place Moon Sweepers conveyor belts toward the Depot
Connect your Conveyor from the Packager output toward the Depot, then check the direction arrows before confirming each section. Your route needs a connection at both ends: the machine supplying capsules and the intake receiving them.
Raised conveyor lines carry capsules across the surface to the base.

Equip the Building Tool and select Conveyor from the building options. Start with a Packager near the area you are cleaning so that you can bring collected dust to the machine instead of carrying it all the way back to the Depot.
Start at the output
Attach the Conveyor to the Packager's output and extend it toward the Depot. Check the arrows as you build. A belt can appear connected while carrying capsules in the wrong direction, so the connection alone is not enough.
Finish at the receiving intake
Connect the final section to the Depot's receiving intake. Run a capsule through this short connection before you spend more on a longer route.
While carrying a capsule, aim at the belt to place it where you are pointing. This gives you a way to put a capsule onto the line for a delivery test.
Connect the conveyor belt to the Depot intake
Finish the belt at the Depot's receiving intake so that arriving capsules can be delivered and sold automatically. Running the line toward the building is only part of the job; its endpoint must connect to the receiving intake.
Use the first capsule to check the whole journey. It should leave the Packager, travel toward the Depot, and reach the intake. Dust and stone arriving by belt are paid as they come in, and the deposit intake pays the amount shown on its screen.
If capsules stop moving or disappear without payment, check the belt's connection, its destination, and any Splitter or Merger on the route. Check the direction arrows too, especially where you have added another section. A route facing away from the receiving end will not carry your capsules where you intended.
Once delivery works, continue with Moon Sweepers auto selling for the selling side of your setup.
Extend Moon Sweepers belts after a short delivery test
Connect another belt section when you reach the current section's length limit. A limit on one section does not mean your entire route has to stop there.
Build the short Packager-to-Depot connection first, send a capsule, and check that it reaches the warehouse. Then extend the route toward the area where you are working. This keeps the initial test small before you spend more on distance.
The Packager links manual cleaning to your conveyor network. You still sweep the ground and carry your full container to the machine; "pressing the E key unloads everything and sends the capsules further." That becomes useful as your cleaning area moves farther from the main station.
The Packager does not clean the ground by itself. For automatic collection, look at the Moon Sweepers Robot Vacuum.
Connect Splitters and Mergers port to port
Splitters and Mergers can snap directly onto one another, port to port. You can connect these junction pieces directly when laying out your belt network.
| Component | Connection or behavior |
|---|---|
| Splitter and Merger | Direct port-to-port snapping |
| Merger | Alternating inputs |
| Shared belt | Crewmate junction placement |
Mergers alternate between their inputs. Keep that behavior in mind when following capsules through a junction: the Merger takes turns between incoming routes.
In multiplayer, a crewmate can place Splitters and Mergers on belts built by another player. You can therefore work on junctions along a shared route without having the original belt builder place each piece. After adding a junction, include it in your delivery check before extending the network further.
Moon Sweepers belt speed: fixed 1.1 m/s
Every stock conveyor belt runs at 1.1 m/s, and the base game has no upgrade that makes belts faster. Once your base grows, belts become the bottleneck: machines wait for input and cargo piles up at the ends.
To go faster, install the Faster Belts mod. It adds Belt Overdrive, a four-level upgrade in the Logistics branch of the upgrade terminal. Cargo spacing stays the same, so throughput rises with speed.
| Mod level | Default speed bonus | Belt speed |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | +25% | 1.38 m/s |
| Level 2 | +50% | 1.65 m/s |
| Level 3 | +100% | 2.2 m/s |
| Level 4 | +150% | 2.75 m/s |
Without the mod, every belt stays at 1.1 m/s.
Your route is working when a capsule leaves the Packager, follows the belt toward the Depot, reaches the receiving intake, and is sold. Once that short test succeeds, extend the line to your work area and continue planning your Moon Sweepers automation setup.
FAQ
Equip the Building Tool, choose Conveyor, and build from the Packager output to the Depot's receiving intake. Check that the arrows point toward the Depot, then send a capsule through.
No. Belt speed is how fast cargo moves: stock belts run at a fixed 1.1 m/s, with no upgrade in the base game. Capsule spacing stays the same, so a faster modded belt carries more per minute.
Belt Overdrive's four default Mod levels run at 1.38 / 1.65 / 2.2 / 2.75 m/s. Their bonuses are +25% / +50% / +100% / +150%, and the upgrades appear in the Logistics branch.
Add a connected section after reaching a section's length limit. Test a short delivery route first, then extend it toward your cleaning area.
Check the endpoint connection, belt direction, destination, and any Splitter or Merger along the route. Capsules need to reach the Depot's receiving intake for automatic delivery and sale.
